Reference Photo Instructions
The quality of the photo submitted will often dictate the quality of the final painting. We are doing portraits, so, much like a selfie, only shoot the head and face. Shoot the photo with a decluttered background (as much as possible) and enough light on the subject's face to be able to see the white or "sparkle" in their eyes. The resolution isn't critical as long as it's standard smart phone resolution. Since it's impossible to paint "pretty pictures" with full PPE on, we suggest you try to capture the stress and fear in an effort to tell a realistic story of the struggles faced by these front line heroes.
Once completed, if interested, you can purchase a printed flat or stretched canvas here. Nurses enter promo code NURSE20 for 20% off print costs with a percentage of the proceeds going to The Daisy Foundation.
